How to Write Compelling Titles And Descriptions
You don’t have to be on the New York Times bestseller list to write appealing offers and requests. Following these few simple guidelines will help take your offer from weak to wow in no time…
- Offer or request services deemed appropriate by the tispr community
- Try to capture your audience’s attention with an eye-catching title and description
- Keep your writing clear, concise, direct and articulate
- Double (and triple) check for spelling and grammar!
- Offer or request services that would harm the tispr community
- Publish threats of violence
- Incorporate derogatory language or heavy cursing
- Write anything of a sexual or suggestive nature
- Attempt to sell explicit or illegal services
- Offer fake services or spam

Write in Your Unique Tone of Voice
When potential clients identify a tone of voice, they’re also identifying a personality…so make sure yours comes through! Are you funny? All business? Artistically expressive? The more authentic the more effective, so be yourself in all your postings.

Write with the Client on the Brain
Try to get into the mind of your customer and what might appeal to them emotionally. While you spend a lot of time thinking about your talent the customer does not, so put yourself in their shoes and ask - “What would make ME purchase this offer?”

How to Select Eye-Catching Images
A picture’s worth a thousand words, so make sure yours speak loudly! A photo is the FIRST thing potential clients will notice about your post, so show some TLC when choosing and curating images. Reference these tricks of the trade and prepare to get noticed...
- Select photos taken with a professional camera vs your mobile device when possible
- Utilize as much natural light as you can
- Try to avoid any distracting backgrounds
- Make sure the subject’s in focus
- Choose images that are relevant/representative of the type of service you’re offering
- Aim for quality by following these image guidelines: JPEG or PNG format, minimum width of 600px, minimum height of 900px, maximum file size of 15mb
- Avoid overpowering an image with text, unless the text is a natural part of the image

Pick an Interesting Subject
Ask yourself what it is about your service offering/business that stands out, and strive to showcase only those things. Is it the people? The talent? The finished product? Keep in mind you need an image that’ll demand attention from your audience as they scroll through the stream.
Relevancy is Key
While we like your head just fine, a headshot doesn’t adequately depict the fact that you can, say, teach someone how to play the violin as masterfully as you do.
